During this workshop, you will be introduced to the Hand Weaver course. After a brief introduction to the various steps of weaving, an introduction to binding theory, and a discussion of different swatches, you will have the opportunity to weave on a table loom with shafts. While you experiment with different materials, we, as experienced teachers, will teach you some finer points of the craft. You will learn, among other things, how to create combinations by using different shafts.
You will have a table loom at your disposal for the entire workshop.
After the workshop, we will cut your fabric, and you will go home with a swatch in which various techniques have been applied. The length of the woven piece depends on the materials used, the bindings applied, and your own weaving pace.
This workshop is offered by CVO GENT.
